Danny Espinosa

Danny Espinosa

Coach Danny was born and raised in Orange County, California. Growing up he played as part of the original OC Crush, coached by his father Dan Espinosa. Coach Danny attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana and went on to play collegiately for the Dirtbags at Long Beach State University. As a freshman he was the Big West Conference Freshman of the Year. He was drafted in 2008 by the Washington Nationals where he would make a name around the league as a promising young talent. He was named National League Player of the Week in 2016 when he rang in five home runs, and 17 RBI’s in seven days. He also spent time with the Los Angeles Angels, his hometown team in 2017. Coach Danny also played in the Mexican Baseball League for Acereros de Monclova also representing the Mexican National team in the 2020 Olympics. Now retired, Danny is married to his wife Sara and they have two young boys, Ty and Levi.

Phil Brassington

Phil Brassington

Coach Phil received the Australian Medal for Sporting Achievement in baseball from Queen Elizabeth II. He served as a pitcher for the Australian National Baseball Team for a remarkable 18 years. Coach Phil was drafted in 1993 by the Kansas City Royals. While in college at Lamar University he earned recognition as an All-Conference player and Freshman of the year. Since retirement Coach Phil has committed over 20 years to coaching baseball, imparting knowledge and guidance to players of all ages. Coach Phil currently resides in Orange County, California where he lives with his wife Lindsey and two children, Jack and Lucy.

Javier Rosales

Javier Rosales

Coach Javi grew up in Orange County, California and was recognized as a standout baseball star at Segerstrom High school on the Jaguars where he was named to the All-Golden West League Team his senior year. After high school, Coach Javi played for Orange Coast College where he was awarded the Wantanabe Scholarship Award and won the 2019 CCCBCA State Championship. He would transfer after losing a year due to Covid and play for the Dirtbags of Long Beach State. Coach Javi is the youngest of the Crush coaches having just finished playing in 2022. He has a true passion for giving back to the next generation. He wants to impart the lessons he has learned and will relate well to the Crush players since he is not far removed from playing himself.

Ryan Yowell

Ryan Yowell

Coach Ryan grew up in Moreno Valley, CA and played high school baseball and basketball at Canyon Springs High. He moved to Orange County 15 years ago to pursuit his career in Mental Health. Coach Ryan completed his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has spent 12 years working as a registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the CA Board of Behavioral Science. Ryan is married to his wife Shannon and they have two young boys, Clyde and Miles.
